Lfw highlights: Louise Gray

Louise Gray is one of the shows I never miss. Quirky, fun, and colourful, her collections are an extension of herself (I met her at the Topshop party and she was a total babe).

Known for being the darling of the fashion meets art industry, her collections are a true reflection of London's edgy reputation. Her AW12 collection, inspired by Afirca and barcodes (!) to name a few, married an abundance of print and embellishment; mostly graffiti, tribal, and brocade, alongside mohawk head-wear by milliner Nasir Mazhar (which was captivating in it's own right) and boots by Nicholas Kirkwood. Although her loud colour-ways and 80's party vibe were ever-present, this collection definitely had a more mature edge; with some pieces being reminiscent of Marni, and very wearable in their own right.

In other words, I loved it!

  1. I never *used* to miss Louise Gray shows when she was represented by Talk. But now... *looks around for invite*

  2. Dude, the link to Marni is so spot on... not in a bad way though... in a FREAKING AWESOME way. Love the way you write Jackie and how you describe a collection. These shots are also stunning.... could totally get lost in those prints. The headpieces are the perfect compliment.

p.s. got a blurry snap of someone wearing the yellow/black boots the day after (I think it was the day after?!) the show. They looked so kick butt out in the real world.

p.s.s. LOVE AND MISS YOUR FACE. xx
